Ms Eleanor Scott Wilson

As well as my private practice I also work for Children and Family Health Devon (NHS CAMHS).

I come from an arts background with over 25 years' professional experience as an actress, producer and director in theatre, TV and film.  I have a BA (Hons, First Class) in Theatre and Performance, specialising in Physical Theatre techniques; and an MA (Distinction) in Dramatherapy.

I take an holistic, client-centered approach so that the pace and content of sessions are directed by your wishes and needs. I offer a variety of playful and creative ways with which to explore personal issues... stories, myths and fairytales, movement, role-play, improvisation, ritual, maskwork, puppetry, art-making, singing, guided imagery, dreamwork, and relaxation techniques.

You don't need any previous art, music or drama experience to work in this way, just a desire and willingness to explore through creative means. As well as Arts Therapies techniques, I am informed by Jungian, Humanistic, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural approaches to personal healing and growth.

In my CAMHS (NHS) work I support young people and their parents/carers, as well as working with education, health and social care staff.

I also offer individual private therapy sessions and groupwork for: Elders in residential and day care; Pregnant women and their families; Women experiencing menopause; People with learning disabilities; People with eating disorders, Acute and recovering mental health in-patients and patients detoxing from substance mis-use in NHS secure units; Carers; Staff in business, health, and education settings (therapy and training programmes); People experiencing life changes and difficulties including grief and loss, fear, depression, stress, anxiety, low self-esteem; and People of all ages who wish to explore life changes and transitions in creative ways.
