Tracey Wills

Are you struggling to cope or to make sense of what life brings? Do you feel stuck or limited in options for the way forward?

Life is by nature challenging. There is constant flux and change, bringing 'ups and downs'. Some of these are expected; many are not.

What can be done?

We cannot change our past or the people around us, but we can alter our relationship to ourselves and how we view our lives, our relationships and our world. This ultimately releases us from the debilitating grips of low self-esteem, grief, anxiety, depression, or anger - making us more tolerant of change and able to find increased contentment.

I offer a variety of playful and creative ways with which to explore personal issues. No previous experience of drama, music or art is necessary - just a willingness and curiosity to explore through creative means. I work in a client-centred way which means the pace and content of the sessions are determined by you, the client.

I am HCPC registered, based in Exeter and Mid Devon, offering individual or group dramatherapy. I have considerable experience of using dramatherapy in schools, residential and day-care settings with older people, people with dementia, and adults/children with learning disabilities. I have also worked with looked-after and adopted children.

In 2019, I gained my Level 1 in IFS (Internal Family Systems) Therapy, and am now authorised in this approach, which integrates well into dramatherapy. In IFS, clients are supported to meet and engage with their many internal 'characters' (or 'parts' in IFS language). When met with compassion and understanding, these parts relax their grip on our lives allowing us more space to be who we want to be. I can offer IFS informed Dramatherapy or IFS therapy as a stand-alone therapy, which can work well online, via Skype or Zoom platforms. More about IFS can be found here:

Besides Dramatherapy and IFS, I also offer drama facilitation for groups wishing to explore and develop drama and theatre skills; and I offer training or team-building workshops for organisations interested in a playful, drama based approach.
